The ALS ice bucket challenge is going crazy on the social media sites now. Maddie and Zack have both done it.
Maddie got her hair cut and colored Friday. Now you have a red headed sister
and she is sending 10 inches of her hair to some children's charity.
Today was a great day at church. Here are your siblings acting up.
Yesterday I helped a family that I home teach move into the ward. It went
really well. There were over 20 people there. In about 40 minutes we had the Uhaul truck and 3 pickups loaded. Then we came and unloaded in
South Fork. I'm also fixing up our extra lawn mower to give to the family that moved in. It
just needed a new control cable and wheel.
We love and miss you!

Graham:
Family,
It has been a busy week! We have had lots of service and
moves to do lately. In the last 3 weeks we have had 19 kids under the age of 18
move into the ward! We also moved a couple of loads of wood and did some yard
work for a less active member.
We taught Vicki, an RLDS member, the first discussion. She
agreed with everything we said and started telling us about her patriarchal
blessing. Then we also taught Jessica a few times. She is now starting 2 Nephi.
We are trying to help her stop smoking. She also committed to come to church
this Sunday. We taught Ray and Miriam twice. We re-taught the Plan of Salvation
to them and when we got to the celestial kingdom we asked them what they would
do to get there. They said "we should stop smoking." Having already
taught them the Word of Wisdom we were a little startled when they said they
smoke. They were on baptismal date for September 4th but we will have to move
that date for a month after they smoke their last cigarette.
Today we plan on going to the fair in town for P-day.
Here's our weekly letter from the president,
President Bonham
August 25, 2014
To our beloved missionaries in the Washington Everett Mission:
1. Thank you for the letters this week and particularly for those of you that note that you have joined in praying for additional faith in Jesus Christ. We will keep working to increase our faith in this way. The promises of God are sure, so we simply need to keep growing in our commitment to them. And speaking of letters, do you know that I’ve read every letter that every missionary has written me since the day I arrived? I’m ready for more, so be sure to write to me (and your families) today!
2. We are updating how we post some documents for you to see. It isn’t all finished, but it is off to a good start. Here is what you can do to find certain documents (you may want to print this page and keep these instructions until you get used to them):
a. Go to www.onedrive.com (yes, you have permission for this purpose only)
b. Click “sign in” and use the account name wemmissionary@hotmail.com and the password wemmail1
c. Do not check “keep me signed in”
d. Once you are “in,” click on “Shared”
e. You can then choose from the blue folders you see. Try the Mission Documents one to see things we’ve posted for you to see. There will be more material coming.
f. In general, we won’t post things you can get on lds.org or mormon.org, but we may pick some things of special interest. If you have recommendations or requests, let the Assistants or me know.
g. When you are finished, please (really, please, please, please) click in the upper right hand corner on “Washington Everett Missionary” and choose “sign out.” We are not sure what will happen if we have everyone sign in and then not sign out—the computer might explode or Microsoft might burst into tears or something.
3. Some of you have heard about the new movie coming out in October, “Meet the Mormons.” It is a feature length film and will show in regular theaters. It tells the story of six amazing Church members and, from the website, it looks very good. People will buy tickets (and popcorn and, we hope, take their friends) to attend. All net profits are donated to the American Red Cross. I don’t have any information on whether it will be playing near us. Once I find out and get more details, I’ll let you know whether you may attend and so on.
4. Sister Bonham is thrilled with all the blackberries growing everywhere and stops to pick and eat them when she can. I want to point out to you that it is wise to wash them first. Berries get sprayed with weed killer, coated with dust, marked by animals, and so on. Don’t pick them where it is obviously someone’s private property without permission. Watch out for thorns. Boiling hot water is reputed to get out the stains (I haven’t tested this). With those warnings, enjoy some nativeWashington
blessings!
5. I encourage every companionship to read a couple of pages from the Missionary Handbook in companionship study each day. Think as you read them about how they apply to you. Is there anything you need to change? Are there ideas that will help you? Does it inspire you to ask with faith for a particular promised blessing? Read the two paragraphs below from pages 3 and 4 to consider the importance of what we are committed to do:
“Strive to fulfill what the President of the Church expects of you, as expressed in your call letter: “You have been recommended as one worthy to represent the Lord as a minister of the restored gospel. You will be an official representative of the Church. As such, you will be expected to maintain the highest standards of conduct and appearance by keeping the commandments, living mission rules, and following the counsel of your mission president. You will also be expected to devote all your time and attention to serving the Lord, leaving behind all other personal affairs. As you do these things, the Lord will bless you and you will become an effective advocate and messenger of the truth.
“When you accepted your call, you promised to live by these standards. You are accountable to the Lord and to the leaders of the Church for how well you honor this promise. Always keep in mind the importance of your calling. Strive constantly to magnify it.”
6. Let me just congratulate those of you who reached Standards of Excellence this past reporting week. We are seeing an increase in the number of companionships that can achieve this important goal and an additional group that are getting very close (sometimes missing just one element by one event). Do not be discouraged if you think it will take you several more weeks to get there, but keep working. As we commit to hard work and great faith, the Lord will open a way for us. Be patient and obedient and hardworking. Ask the Lord to bless you with the things you need. Love those around you, including the members and your companion. These blessings will come.
We love you!

Dad: That's awesome to read the letter from the president. Enjoy
the fair today! I bet your weather is a lot nicer than the 98 degree day here. Did you get the eye glasses yet?
Graham: Yes! I got the glasses! They are great! I can read things
with my left eye now but they make my right eye a little more blurry.
Dad: Yay and sorry. You probably need a new prescription.
And I did not know your pupil distance either. They only cost about
$12.00 so if you ever find an eye dr to examine your eyes for cheap maybe we
can order another pair.
Of course the scriptures say "with an eye single to the glory
of God." Maybe you only need one eye? lol
