Aug 4

Dad:
Hello Elder Feidler!

It was great to get the pictures from your new Ward Mission Leader. Tell him thanks again!

I'm excited to hear if you are on a bike or in a car.

We have your address as:  (please confirm)
12931 200th Ave SE
Monroe, WA  98272

How did the transfer go?  How's the new companion? Where is he from? Who is Jr and Sr.?

We need lots of info!!

It's August so summer is almost over and it will be back to school time. Maddie wants to start driving next month!  She can't wait until she is 15 and she wants a motorcycle license.

All is well here. Maddie just got back from girls' camp and she had fun. Got mosquito bites on her legs. Zack worked his first 8 hr shift on Saturday and closed. He can't believe how he cleaned for 8 hours and people would mess up right behind him.

Friday I drove with the Houston Mini Club out to Brenham and Round Top and ate lunch. The Blue bell factory was too busy to tour.
The rest of the group went on to Austin to meet the Mini Takes The States group and drove to Dallas the following day. I'm the convertible in the middle.
We ate at some place famous for their pies.  Boyers restaurant.

Saturday I got the classic Mini out and went to a meeting.
Saturday night we went to Kemah.
It's been a busy weekend.

Well that's it for here. Now I must let my old eyes rest. ( Got a pair of $1 reading glasses at the Dollar Store.)
We love and miss you!  We are very proud of you and feel very blessed to be able to support you on your mission. Have a great week and tell us lots about the new area!!!

Graham:
Dear Dad and family,

Br. Lowe, our ward mission leader who sent the picture, is no longer our ward mission leader. He was released from that calling last night leaving us without a ward mission leader :( He and his wife will be leaving for a mission of there own in 2 weeks.

That is indeed the correct address. Sadly we our on bikes because one of my last companions was transferred here and decided to go 50 down a gravel road when he hit a pot hole and ripped off the front end of the car.

The Woods Creek ward I'm in now borders the Machias ward and feels a lot like it. We live with a member, Br. Grant, in a tiny basement. In order for us to have hot water or heat we have to burn wood. And YES! We have chickens...

I will really miss my last companion. Now I have Elder Ditlevsen from California. He has been out 11 months and is a visa waiter going to Brazil. He is the Senior companion. He is definitely ready top leave this mission and go to his.

A couple of days after I got here the Grants up stairs come down and told me that my deodorant or shampoo or after shave is giving sister Grant an allergic reaction and to not use anything scented. This area is really going to be a hard one.

Right now in this ward we have one investigator and she is being taught by the JW's also. She has been taking lessons for 2 years. The Elder that was here before me didn't know how to ride a bike so they didn't have to much going on. I'm pretty excited to spend some time tracting the long gravel roads this week.

Great to hear Zack survived a weekend closing shift at Old Navy! Those took a lot of patience. The mini events look like a blast! I like the picture of Myka in the drivers seat :) Sweet new glasses

I survived my first week back in the country! I love and miss ya'll.

Dad:
Elder Feidler,

Wow! That's some crazy stuff.  I guess you need to go unscented.... don't wear any cologne.

So is the car permanently gone or just out for repairs.  Was the previous companion that hit the pot hole the first companion you had that got the ticket you helped pay for??

Challenges are just opportunities to overcome and conquer.  What doesn't kill you will make you stronger.  or really sick... haha.

Good luck, I hope your companion gets his visa soon.  He needs to learn his language.

We miss you lots. Need anything? Did you get your old bike back?

Graham:
Our car was given to some other Elders that have an area 1/4 the size of ours. The accident happen to my first companion in Mill Creek. The sad part is he got transferred a couple of transfers ago and is now in a car area again :(

I ended up borrowing a bike from another missionary. Feel free to send me ya'lls favorite scripture of the week for your readings. Besides that I don't need anything.

Love,
Elder F

Dad:
Are you emailing from the library?  Looks like it is about 3 miles away and the church is even further.

We need a pic of you on the bike.  Is it cold there yet?  I guess you will have a couple of months before things get cold?

good luck

Graham:
Thanks for the scripture. I'm at the library emailing. It is pretty warm and humid here compared to the Island
