Grandpa & Grandma - Aug 18

Dear Elder Grandson,
How is Monroe, Washington and Elder Feidler doing this week?  I have been saying extra prayers for you this past week.  I hope you were blessed and found investigators and had a good week.  Since you are starting from nothing, it can only go up.  It must be hard to walk everywhere if you're not using your bikes.  Do the members there help you and feed you? Are you the only missionaries in the ward? What time do you go to church on Sunday?
This past week was a hard one here.  We had Aiden and Andi for three days.  Andi and I went swimming one day at a friends then on Thursday we all went shopping for fishing license and things to go crabbing.  Aiden really likes to fish.  Thursday night we went to a place in Winnie that had bumper cars, go carts, bowling, arcades, bouncers, mini golf and small fair rides.  It was all indoors and you paid $20 per person and could do all the things as many times as you wanted.  They really had fun.  Right before we were leaving Aiden and Andi were racing on a bouncer and Aiden hit Andi's face and knocked one of her front teeth out.  It was lose and she was going to lose it soon anyway, but it really hurt her.  Friday we went crabbing and it was so hot and only got small crabs and had to throw them back in.  We will have to go in the evening this fall. We have them this week too, I don't know what we will do. I am just getting really tired. School can't come soon enough for me and for them.
We are going to your house on Wednesday. Can't wait to see Maddie, Zack and Myka and of course your dad and Chelle.
We are really ready for some cooler weather and Fall.  I just hope we don't have any hurricanes in Sept. and October.
I got a new iPhone this week.  It is so much faster than the droid.  I didn't realize I hadn't had a new phone for 4 years.
We hope you are doing well.  We think of you often and pray for you.  Keep up the good work.  You will be blessed for all you do.  I know we are blessed having you in the mission field. I sent two pictures from my iphone. I hope you can open them.
We love and miss you.

Grandma and Grandpa!
Thanks for all of the pictures! Did ya'll catch any crabs? The go cart/arcade place sounds like it was a blast!

This past week was a great one! Last night we went to a mission fireside with an investigator. She really enjoyed it. We are the only missionaries in our ward. Our mission is hurting for missionaries right now because a lot of missionaries have been heading home early. We also, starting tomorrow, get to drive a car part-time. We will get it Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Our church starts at 9 am and we have meetings that start at 7 am.

Thursday last week we had a member drop us off out in the middle of our area and we spent 6 hours walking around knocking on doors that didn't have large dogs in the yards. Sadly we thought the area that we got dropped off in would have more houses than it did. At one point we had made it to the dead end of a long road which had 8 houses at the end. They had signs up that said no trespassing and beware of dogs. I thought out loud and said, "We should stand here at the end of this road until somebody comes out or drives by." There was one house that was all by itself down a dirt road without any signs so we started walking that way. As we did I said a silent prayer that we wouldn't come across any mean owners, big dogs, or bears and that we'd have people come up to us to talk to us. Right after I finished my prayer we had a truck pull up and stop next to us. We asked him if he would be interested in hearing our message and he said sure but that he was headed off to work so to swing by later on. After he pulled away we had two more cars pull up to us and thanked us for our work and said we could swing by too! This all happened 2 miles down a dead end road. Pretty neat.

Later on that same day a big black lab ran up to us. He turned out to be really friendly but kept following us! He followed us for a half mile until we decided to turn around and bring him back. When we got back the owner waved us away. He told us that his dog would find his way back and to just let him follow us... Friendly people out in the middle of nowhere.

The members here are feeding us 4 to 5 times a week. They try to help us out when they have time.

That's about all going on here. Enjoy the new Iphone!
Love and miss ya'll,
Elder Graham Feidler
