Grandma & Grandpa - Jan 6, 2014

Dear Elder Grandson,

Where have the weeks gone? Or months even?  This next Friday you have been out 9 months.  Myka was 9 months old this last Friday. You both are growing up so fast, but in different ways
.
We are finally pretty well over all our sickness.  We still cough once in a while but with our changing weather it is a wonder we could get better.  Yesterday was 65 degrees and tonight we are going down to 26 degrees.  I finally got all of Christmas put away and the house cleaned.  Then with the pretty day yesterday, Grandpa and I mowed the front yard.  I wasn't able to do it in December and it needed it bad.  It feels good to have it all done.

Did you have a good New Years?  I bet you weren't able to eat the blackeyed peas and cabbage.  I cooked a lot of it and we ate it all, along with corn bread.  What did you do New Years Eve?  Larry had a party at his house.  They had finger foods and a big fire outside.  He got heat into his shop that day so it wasn't too cold.  I really liked the fire outside. It was big and sooo warm.  We stayed while they set off a few fireworks and then went home around 10:00pm.  We were in bed before 12:00.

What have you decided on a suit?  We will help your Dad on it. I hope you can get one soon.  What else do you need? Didn't anything people sent you for Christmas fit? I just wish you had a car to go to the mall and get what you need.  We can put money in your account to do that, can't we? Can the sisters take you on P-pay?

I hope you are staying warm.  The whole country is in a deep freeze. I think you are on the western edge of it.  Minnisota is having their coldest weather ever. It is to get down to -52 degrees tonight.  Tomarrow night we will be down to 20 degrees then on Thursday back up in the 60's. Everyone at church today was coughing and blowing their nose.

We went over to your house last Thursday and saw everyone. Zack has fixed his car up nice.  He hopes to get his license on Thursday.  Maddie goes around the house singing all the time.  She is really into singing.  Myka dances and jumps when she hears music.  She is such a happy baby.  Chelle is so busy taking care of Myka and your Dad works to make a living.  It is slow now with all the vacationing and holidays.  I can't wait to get everything and everyone back to normal routine, whatever that is!

We hope you are doing fine and staying warm and teaching a lot of people.  Have you got any baptisms scheduled? How do you like your new companion? Where is he from?
I will try to get a letter off soon. We love you so much and continue to pray for you each day.

Lots of Love,
Grandpa & Grandma

Grandma and Grandpa,
Time is flying by! It is also pretty cold here in Mill Creek. We wake up every morning to a layer of frozen ice on everything. This is one reason I'm glad we don't have a car!

I'm doing pretty great! I got a new companion, Elder Rice, and we are getting lots of work done! We have a baptism scheduled for February 1st.

We were looking through our phone the other night looking at all of the phone numbers and names that we didn't know and so we started calling random names. It was amazing how nice some of the non-member, old investigators were. We had a lot of success from this! There was one lady who we called that the missionaries used to teach, along with her husband. We called the phone and her sister answered and so we asked how the lady and the husband were doing. Sadly the night before we called the husband had been on drugs and had stabbed his wife 40 times. The sister on the phone was so glad to hear from us so we could help comfort her. She also said there was no way that it was a coincidence that we called right then and there!

We have so many people to teach! We need more missionaries in this ward!

All is well here!
I love and miss ya'll,
Elder Graham Feidler
