Sep 29

Elder Feidler,

I hope you have had a great week.

Maddie had a great birthday. She got your letter on her birthday and loved it!  We really liked the pass along cards you sent her. Hopefully she will pass them on. Today is Chelle's birthday. She has invited her family up to our house for lunch and fun today.  We are only having sacrament meeting today and a special meeting this afternoon for a change of boundaries in our ward.  It's not going to affect us.

We had the Houston temple President Crain speak in our ward today. It was awesome. He told a story of how he returned to visit his previous mission area after 20 + years. He visited the temple in Chile and saw a lady there that he had baptized on his mission and she was a temple ordinance worker.  Then he also saw her husband there and he was now a member.  He had previously refused to have anything to do with the church. He asked how and when he was converted. She said he joined 19 years later because of that missionary, Elder Crain.  It was the influence that missionary had made by doing service for his family that stuck with him for 19 years and led to his conversion. I know you do a lot of service. Just think of the far reaching impact it may be having on those you serve. There are many seeds you are planting as a missionary.

Eric Tonini spoke today too.  He leaves in a week and a half on his mission to the Marshall Islands.

How's your car holding up? Hopefully well. Zack and I spent all day yesterday working on the Jeep. We installed new bearings/hubs on both sides of the front end and new U joints on the front axles. I am so sore. It also had a brake fluid leak from a rear wheel so we replaced a wheel cylinder and the brake shoes.  Hopefully it will roll on problem free now.

Myka said "momma" clearly on Saturday. So that was an exciting thing for Chelle. She even video recorded it.
Outside playtime is usually every evening after the sun starts to go down. We go outside to the driveway and Myka gets to play on a wiggle waggle or red Radio Flyer scooter. Our house appears to be on a direct flight path for Hobby Airport. The planes keep coming one after another. So this is Myka pointing them out.

I often go on my scooter ride for a neighborhood tour at this time too. This Friday I found something for Myka in a neighbor's trash. Weeeee, a fun slide!
Here Myka has found someone just a cute as she is....... Her reflection!

Work is picking up some. I've got lots of playgrounds to quote these next two weeks.

It looks like Pearland will get a new Costco store. It will be right up across from the entrance to SouthFork on our side of Hwy 288 and will probably be done in 2016. They have opened the Red Duke elementary school near the corner of CR 59 and Kirby and widened both roads. There will be lots of changes for you to see when you come home next year.

Don't get trunky yet. Keep on working hard and serving others. This last 6 months you will be super productive with all the skills you have mastered and the knowledge you have gained.  Keep up the good work!  We love and miss you lots. Send more pictures!

Love Dad and Chelle and Myka and Zack and Maddie.

Ps. Maddie passed her written driving test and now has her learners permit!  She was mostly worried about her hair for the picture!

Here's a picture of them with your mom.  Look your car is still doing good!

Graham:
Dear Family,

So last Monday after emailing, we went to Goodwill where I found a pair of Ecco shoes for $1! They are like new. Also we found out that my companion will soon have his visa. He will probably be off to the Brazil MTC in 2 weeks. He's been in our mission for 13 months so he will only be in Brazil for 10 months after the MTC.

Also last week we got the mission car repaired and my companion had another interview with the mission president. We met the elderly car coordinator missionary at Pep Boys where he gave us a ride back to the mission office to get a loaner car. After hopping in the car with him he started backing out of the spot but hit a curb. Then he pulled forward and attempted to back up again. This time the car was in N instead of R and he revved the engine and slipped it to drive. Drive brought us quickly heading towards the curb in front of the car. We thought this was both scary and funny because he was driving a mission car and we asked him if he needed a backer and he told us no. And we didn't start off our drive with a prayer.

Then I went on an exchange with the district leader. We didn't have the car so we caught a ride with a member out to the middle of nowhere and walked around tracting for most of the day. By the time I got home that night my fingers were swollen and bright red. We did however get to teach Sheryl and Connie a lesson. We brought Br. Little with us who did a great job at fellowship and helping us resolve her concerns.

This week with Jessica she was able to attend lots of activities. She even made it to the women's broadcast on Saturday! Sunday she came to church for the first time in a year and was able to enjoy our ward's primary program. She has been telling everyone she's getting baptized soon and is being a great missionary to her family and friends.

The primary program for our ward was incredible! We have taught about 30 families the 4 step missionary program now, which payed off when Sunday came. Members have been bringing up the program with their nonmember friends and neighbors which resulted in lots of nonmembers attending the meeting. We had to set up chairs in the gym for the first time in 4 years, a member told us.

Thanks for the great pictures! Congrats to Maddie for getting her permit!! Also that's way exciting to hear about the Costco! They have the best deal for lunch. A 1/4 pound hot dog and a soda for $1.50!

Love and miss ya'll,
-Elder Graham Feidler.

P.S. BYU Idaho wants me at the school 10 days after I get home! Our mission president suggested we research our college info during our email time.

Dad:
Wow, what a cool week!  We love the text Chelle got last night.

Also, college???  10 days is not very long.  We need to figure that out.  Do you want to go right off to college or take 3 months to work around here in a job? It's really up to you.  Obviously the best influences and dates will be at BYU-I.  But if you want to stay here for a few months you can.  I figured we would start the financial aid stuff on Jan 1st.  You will then not be our dependent for 2 full years and I think that might qualify you for better financial aid.  Probably even grants if they are available.

Let us know what you are thinking.

Graham: I'm planning on talking to President Bonham about the college situation tomorrow during a quarterly interview. The only problem with not going there right after I get home is that the next semester I could go to would be winter of 2016. I'm thinking right now that the best thing to do is to jump right into college so I can continue to use the study skills I've gained on my mission. I'll find out more tomorrow.

Dad:
College schedule is way confusing. Spring "semester" has two blocks and starts April 20th.
April 20th - June 4th, then June 5th to July 23rd.

After that is the Summer "session" (Not a real semester.) July 27th to Sept 11th

I am afraid if you don't start in April you may be waiting until September to start a real semester in the Fall.

Admissions is pretty good at working with returned missionaries so you probably could get in for Fall 2015 or you could maybe even take second block Spring semester classes and Summer session which is also equal to a block or half semester.

Admissions has a date you are expected to return since you deferred for a mission.  I will call them and see what that date is.

Give it some thought. Good luck!

Dad:
BYU-I Admissions just said they are expecting you back for Spring Semester on April 20th. With approval and confirmation of your return date from the mission, they could extend your deferment and allow you to come back to the Fall Semester Sept 15ish, then you would immediately get back on track and go Winter 2016 and Spring 2016.  So 3 semesters in a row.

Another option is to do 2nd block spring 2015 semester courses and summer session courses (Your choices of classes would be limited!) then return Winter 2016 on track again.

So I kind of think going back immediately would be your best option. Then you will be home July 30th 2015 until Winter Semester starts in Jan 2016.

So there you have it.

Luv, Dad.

Grandma and Grandpa - Sep 22

Dear Elder Grandson,
Rain, rain is going away! A cool front is coming in tomorrow and less humidity and 80 degree weather, YAHOOOOO!  We are going to hire a young man to help us do some of the yard work (trim trees, paint fence, work on house some more, repaint fire pit area) this week.  Remember you and I painted the fire pit area the last time it was done. You have been having really warm weather there. Is it smoky in your area?  There are a lot of wild fires in Oregon and some in Washington.  Ann says it is smoky where she is.
The pictures you sent last week were great. You really dumped the water and ice on you.  It is so nice to hear the members are good to you.  We do all we can with missionaries here in hopes people in your ward will help you.  It is so wonderful how the Lord blesses all of us to further his work.  Grandpa went out with the elders this past week and then fed them and we will feed the other set on Wednesday.  I hope they continue to help you so when the weather gets bad there you won't have to ride the bikes.  How were the root beer floats? How many times did you go get them and where?
We are going to Houston to VA tomorrow. Grandpa has two appointments then we are going to your house and see Maddie for her birthday, Zack and Myka.  We haven't been over there for 3 weeks. I can't believe Maddie will be 15 years old.  You kids all grew up so fast.  I guess Myka will be 15 in a blink of an eye. She is going to love to meet you again.  Zack plays with her and she just loves to see him when he comes home from school.
Larry and his family are all fine.  Larry works almost 24 hours a day on cars.  Ali stays in Louisiana some during the week. She works as a life guard in Sulphur at an indoor pool. Aiden and Andi are growing up fast just like the rest of you.  Andi will be 7 in December and in the first grade. Aiden is 10 and in the 4th grade I think.  Where does time go!!
Not much else going on here.  We hope you have another great week and find more investigators to keep you so busy that time will fly by.  Our prayers are always with you. Keep up the good work.
Love you lots,

Grandpa & Grandma

Sep 22

Dad:
Elder Feidler,
Another week gone by and now your sister turns 15!  Tomorrow (Monday the 22nd) is Maddie's birthday. 15 years old and ready to drive.  Friday night she had a couple of friends spend the night and she had a cake.

She had fun watching movies and playing. I can't believe it's time to teach her to drive. She has finished the first 6 hours of drivers ed studying and is ready to go get her permit. Now if we can only figure out how to answer the question on the application about her hair color!  Red, blonde?

Myka got some new toys this week that Chelle borrowed from someone at church. She is having lots of fun.

I have had a sore back all week and still recovering from the bike wreck. No biking for me this week.

Zack didn't have to work as much this week. But he still got a paycheck on Friday.
Here he is feeding it to the ATM.

Today was our Stake conference.  It was nice to get to sleep in. Maddie and Zack went with your mom last night to Uncle David's daughter's wedding.  (Mary Ann)

Zack also got a new cell phone yesterday and he joined our AT&T plan instead of free loading on Nana's plan.  He was resistant to get an iphone as he is just different and weird!  So I think he is happy with the Nokia Lumia smart phone he got. It is a Windows 8.1 phone so it reminds him of the Kinn phone he had been using.  Plus it has an FM radio so he is happy.

We have been getting a lot of rain here the past week. How's your weather been?  I hope you are continuing to have lots of success.  I saw Ray at Pena's Donut Heaven on Friday morning and he said he got to tour Temple Sq in Salt Lake and spent a week out there. He went to the U of H vs BYU game too.  BYU won!  His business has been doing really well. He asked about you.

I tried to wait in line Friday to get a new iPhone 6 Plus. But I was too far back in the ATT line. So I went to Best Buy and was first in line but they got zero of the plus model.  So I will just have to wait. I'm  #1 on their list if they get any.

We miss and love you lots. Keep up the good work and let us know if you need anything.

Love,
Dad

PS Look! I just tried to braid Myka's hair! Lol

Graham:
Family,
It has been a busy / rough week. We were busy with non missionary work and had to cancel some of our appointments. On Wednesday we drove to Mill Creek for an interview for my companion and the mission president. Then after that we were told to go to Everett to Pep Boys to get our car checked out. We stopped by there Wednesday to see if they could squeeze us in. Sadly they said no and set up an appointment for us to drive back to Everett Saturday morning. We showed up Saturday morning and they told us they had deleted our appointment with no reason why, which left us sitting there for an hour and a half before they could get the car in to look at it. They had recently put new tires on the car at a zone conference but two of the wheels were bent up from other Elders running into curbs. The axle also makes a weird sound when you make a turn in it. After them writing us a quote for about $900 of repairs we left with no repairs done. The car has 45,000 miles on it so the mission will sell it in 5,000 miles so they will just let the problems go...

Then we had the housing coordinators come over this week and steam clean our carpets to get mold out and replace our furniture with mold free stuff.

On the missionary side of things this past week we taught 10 more members the four step becoming an everyday missionary flyer. Yesterday we found out that every Sunday in relief society they have a moment where members are able to share missionary experiences with others. Usually they struggle to share one but this week they shared 5!

This week we taught Sheryl and one of her friends Chuck. On our next lesson with her she wants to invite her sister so we will have Sheryl, Connie (her daughter), Chuck, and her sister! :) Also next Sunday is our ward's primary program so we have committed all of our investigators to attend. Lots of the primary kids are inviting their friends and families. With all of the new move ins to our ward and also the non members coming next Sunday we will probably have to open up the gym to fit everyone.

I sent Maddie a birthday letter in the mail that will hopefully get there today or tomorrow!

Jessica, one of our other investigators, has really committed to stop smoking. She is slowly doing better and better and came up with a day that she will smoke her last one. Also we asked her what else she thought she could do to help her stop. That's when she said "I've felt like I just need to set aside 30 mins to kneel down and pray for more faith and help with it." This week she has committed to doing that. We and the members of the ward will be keeping daily contact with her this week.

That's about all of the excitement going on here!
Hope ya'll have a wonderful week! And happy birthday Maddie!!

-Elder Graham Feidler

Dad: Wow. Crazy week.  Keep up the good work. Grandpa and Grandpa are here and we just had lunch.   Are you going to do anything fun today?

Graham: Grandpa and Grandpa are their?? haha Hi Grandma and Grandpa! Today we our going frisbee golfing as a district. Also my companion has a dentist appointment.

Sep 15

Dad:
Elder Feidler,

It has finally come! We got some cooler weather. Yesterday the high was around 78 degrees and it was cloudy all day. It was beautiful!  Today is in the 70s too.   Yesterday morning was so nice I decided to join some others for a bike ride. Unfortunately it started misting and the roads got real slick. We were about a mile south of Bailey Rd and turned to the right when the guy in front of me had his bike slide right out from under him.  I thought I would turn a little tighter and miss him and mine slid out like it was on ice!  The asphalt road had some oil on top of it and it was super slick.

I scraped up my knee and elbow and today I am way sore with my shoulder, wrist and hip. So be careful out there and keep the rubber side pointed down.

This past week I did a trade show up in Houston on Thursday.

And Thursday evening Maddie had her first high school choir choir concert. It was fun and they did well.

Yesterday after the bike crash I took the classic Mini up to a combine Lotus and Mini meet.  One other VTec Classic Mini was there.  The green one on the right.
Everyone loves our classic Mini.  On the way home I got behind another British icon.
It's an open top double decker tour bus in Houston. Pretty cool!

Any progress with Jessica this week?  Did you achieve your goals and have bottomless root-beer floats?! I hope so.

I can't believe it is the middle of September already.  This year will be over before you know it.

Here's Myka enjoying a Sunday lunch before nap time.

We miss and love you lots!  Keep up the good work. We are praying for you always.  Don't fall off the bike like me! :)

Graham:
Dad and Family,

It has been a busy week. We finished the last of our weekly planning goals last night at 8:19 pm. This week we found 2 new investigators and taught 8 lessons. The 2 new investigators live right next to Jessica. The mom Sheryl is in her 50's and the daughter Connie is 22 and has a 2 year old daughter. The mom has lots of questions and concerns but the daughter is practically a member. She is incredibly nice and backs up everything we say to her mom. Jessica has started to progress more towards the end of the week. She really wants to go to our church but doesn't know how to still be friends with the jw lady if she tells her she won't go to their church. She also told us that she prayed to ask God if she should be baptized in our church and that God told her it would be a really good thing to do. The members of Woods Creek ward are doing an amazing job fellowshipping! We had several members drop by at Jessica's this week to give her encouragement and some help with stopping smoking.

On Saturday we had our national day of service at a grave yard on Old Owen Rd. We cleaned up the tomb stones and pulled out lots of weeds. We had about 150 people show up to help. One less active family and 7 non members. This ward is also doing incredible with using Mormon words in their conversations and inviting others to things.

We haven't got on bikes for quite some time. We have the car 3 days a week then we get rides from members and walk the other 4. Our bikes just aren't in very good condition and having the members drive us has really helped get them involved in the work.

I can't wait to go get some bottomless rootbeer floats :)

I love and miss ya'll!
-Elder Graham Feidler

Dad: Wow what a great week! You're no doubt being blessed for all your hard work. Keep it up! I'm driving right now so can't really talk. I'm having to dictate this.

Graham: Pictures for after the drive

Sep 8

Elder Feidler,
I hope this has been a great week and a great fast Sunday. Any investigators make it to church today?  We got a new missionary in our ward that is Chinese.  It was funny because one of the less active newish converts has not been making it out to church because she says she is taking a Mandarin language class on Sunday. Well now we have an Elder that can speak it and help her out! So you never know why you are sent somewhere to wait for a visa.

Eric Tonnini was made an Elder today and he is preparing to go on a mission.

The Sister Missionary that said someone in her ward was from Pearland is correct. It is the Browns (Rachelle and Aaron). They just moved out there. Chelle told them to keep an eye out for you.

This past week has flown by. Maddie was busy with a choir workshop on Friday and Saturday up at U of H. Zack has been working and the both have been getting little sleep with seminary.

We have been getting some rain. Right now it is raining and the power has gone out. Not complaining though as the yard can use the water.

Chelle's new interest is in organic foods and better eating. We went Saturday morning to a couple of farmer's markets and bought some figs and brown yard eggs. Do you get to eat eggs from the chickens where you live now?  Have your tastes changed since being on your mission? Do you eat eggs now?

This week I decided to teach Maddie to ride the scooter!  She did a few laps on our street and is pretty good.

There was only one small incident when she came to a stop and it leaned over too far one way.  She sat it down on the right side and a yellow reflector came off.

Maddie is also learning French in school. She likes French.

Myka likes to play and fall onto the pillows and blankets on our bed because they offer such a soft landing. The other morning Chelle brought her into our bed and Myka was standing up then she fell face first right into my hip that was covered by blankets. She started screaming and had bitten her tongue. She pretty much put a hole through her tongue and it was bleeding. She's fine now. She is just so adventurous. Today she was climbing up on chairs in Priesthood and walking from one chair to the next. I think she looks like quite the bruiser in this picture.

I got the classic Mini out for a burger run last night. Gotta luv 5 Guys fries.

Zack left work on a break and ran over to Chipotle to get a bite to eat because he remembered you used to go there.  He took one look at the prices and said no, this place is expensive!  I took him to McD and got him two $1 sandwiches.  I hope you are getting better at budgeting.

Nothing else too exciting here this week. Keep working hard. We are praying for you and your investigators everyday. We love you lots and are super proud of you! Our mission chart on the fridge has two of the three spires full now.  I think one more month and your mission will be 75% over. This is when it really starts flying by, so make sure to take lots of pictures and write in your journal daily. Work super hard... you are a pro now!
Graham:
Family,
Transfers are tomorrow but both my companion and I are staying. Saturday night we made it to Margret's baptism in Oak Harbor. It was so great to see her get baptized and to see the ward swarm her with love.

This week we finally finished helping Br. Grant, our land lord, stack 9 cords of wood! We heard so many jokes and got so much advice for raising kids. He reminds me of Grandpa :) On our drive up to Oak Harbor with him he started talking about all of the stuff he has collected in his garages. He cracked himself up when he said, "I'll beat my kids out of this life. I can't wait to see the looks on their faces when they have to get rid of all of this junk!" haha! He converted an upright freezer into a gun safe. He's a really neat guy.

Also this week we taught Jessica who is still being taught by the JW's. She is trying to overcome smoking but smokes about 30 a day. We also taught Ray and Miriam on Thursday about the Law of Tithing. This is one the past Elders held off on teaching them because they don't have too big of an income. Sunday morning we gave them a call to wake them up and remind them about church when Ray told us he doesn't want ot take any more lessons. When I asked him why he told me because he didn't fell like he should learn more or go to church without paying tithing but he can't afford it. I assured him he could still come to church and take lesson without paying tithing and that the lord would help them with there needs if they did pay it. So sadly he dropped us and left us with just Jessica as an investigator.

This next week we made a long list of people to go see and assignments we had been given. We will reward ourselves with bottomless root beer floats from Red Robins if we succeed or will cut our next emailing period an hour short if we don't finish it all. Also this week we plan on spending more time with members and asking for friends we could teach. This ward is pretty great with fellowshipping and giving us referrals.

That's about all this week. I still can't get eggs by themself to go down me and Br. Grant won't share his eggs. Also at Chipotle I would get a kids meal or a burrito if the manager gave me a gift card there as a reward.

Have a great week!
Elder Graham Feidler

Finishing the wood stack and getting $10 of free milk delivered. :) At the fair we went to, they had a $10 off your first order of milk! I got one that was 6% instead of 2. Yum!

Dad:
Great to hear Margret was baptized and you got to go!  Sounds like you are doing great.  Keep up the good work.  Speaking of work: 9 cords of wood??  That is a crazy lot of wood.  We will have to let Grandpa know just how much work it is messing with wood so that he won't try to put in a wood fire water heating system in the future!

Have a great day!  Get out and enjoy it.

Love,
Dad

Grandpa & Grandma - Sep 2

Dear Elder Grandson,
How was your week?  How many lessons did you give and how many new investigators have you found?  You are such a go-getter and I know you are doing great.  We pray for you and your companion to be guided to those waiting to hear the gospel. I have faith that your are guided every day.
It looks like it might be getting cooler up there.  You sure could use a car every day, but I am thankful you have one when you do.  New month starting with more miles. Get r done!

We enjoy your emails so much.  Hope you got the new shirts.  Did you ever get the glasses your dad sent you?  I know we ask a lot of questions!

We had a great time in San Antonio with your Dad, Chelle and Myka.  I think she finally knows we are her grandparents and comes to us and gives us hugs. We did the Riverwalk a couple of times and ate at Landry's and Mexican food.  I love the Riverwalk. We ate a lot, but also walked a lot.  Luckily the hotel was only 1 1/2 blocks from most  everything we did.  Never got the car out of the garage after we got there till time to come home.

When I think about it, all of you grandkids are so special to us. Grandpa and I have been blessed with good boys of our own and they were blessed with wonderful families.  We are so proud of all of you.

I hope you can email tomorrow since it is a holiday.
I have enclosed pictures. One is on the Riverwalk, Grandpa at the Alamo and a market place we walked through. We had a great time.  Now back to work at the house here. I may send a picture of your Dad and Myka in a separate email from my IPhone.

We love and miss you. Stay happy and focused on your work.
Love, Grandpa & Grandma

Sep 2

Last long weekend of summer here. Not sure if you will get this on Monday because of the holiday.  I hope your new shirts have arrived. Chelle felt bad for Zack and said he needed a couple of new ones too.
He had a busy week with work, school and seminary. Lots of early mornings and late nights. But he survived. He changed his availability at work for next week so maybe they won't work him til 11:30 on a school night.

Maddie I think is liking seminary more after a few days than she did on the first day.  It is interesting having 2 kids to get out the door and on their way to seminary by 5:30 am. Wake up is 4:45am every morning. VERY tiring.

This weekend is your mom's weekend so they are over there. Maddie did some babysitting and Zack a bunch of working this weekend. Did I mention Zack makes $9 an hour?!  Pretty awesome.

So Chelle and I decided to got to SanAntonio. I called Grandma and told her and she offered to watch Myka but I said come on with us. So we all went and used a few of the free hotel nights I had earned through credit card sign up bonuses. We stayed at Town Place Suites by Marriott. It was a nice hotel. Myka cried until 3am the first night. It was exhausting. We ate lots of food and took a river boat cruise.  The food and cruise were not nearly as nice as our Carnival cruise that you went on. Maybe we can all Carnival cruise next summer when you're back home?

We also took a double decker bus tour of San Antonio.

Then Grandma watched Myka while Chelle and I took a Segway tour for an 1 1/2 hours.

That was fun!  Pretty easy to ride once you get used to them. I think this should be the next thing for missionaries after you get iPad minis!!!!  I think you can go 12 miles on a charge and get out and do some tracking on them. You could ride up to the door and not even get off!  What do you think?

Here we are dining outside while a mariachi band played La Cucaracha for us at a river walk restaurant.

And of course no trip to SA would be complete without a stop at Bucee's.
Myka talked Grandma into buying her a ball.

How was the fair last Monday!  Did you go with members?  I imagine it would be expensive. How are your investigators progressing?  Overcoming smoking?  We pray all the time for you and hope you are well fed and have beautiful weather. It was really hot in San Antonio.

That's about it for here this week.  We love and miss you lots. Keep up the good work. Let us know who you found new this week.

Love Dad and family

Graham:
Dad and Family,

Looks like ya'll had a blast in San Antonio! I also can't believe how big Myka is getting and that Zack is getting $9 an hour! Those Segways would be so nice for missionary work but would probably get stolen or broken. Hopefully we will get Ipads before I go home. In Everett they have a few double decker community transit buses. I got the shirts in the mail last week! Thanks! My others ones were yellow and the fabric is so worn out you can see through it.

This past week started off roughly. Just about every morning we would wake up and do service with Br. Grant (our landlord.) We moved enough wood into a dry place to last us all winter for heat and hot water. We had made it a goal to find 5 new investigators last week and by Saturday morning we had found none. After doing service Saturday morning we ate lunch and had 3 hours of studies. By 5 pm we went out finally to go find some new people to teach. We knocked on a potential's door and she answered and said to come in. Sadly we didn't have a third male so we walked to our ward mission leaders house and invited him to come with us. During the middle of his dinner with his family he got dressed up and drove us back to her house. We hadher kids sit in on the lesson. She has had a rough life and is now 32 with 7 kids and a single mom. She and 4 of her kids are over the age of 8 bringing us to the 5 new investigators goal we had set. She shared with us her testimony of growing up in ghetto California and being a floater, but more recently finding Christ. We committed them to come to church the next day. Sunday came and they called and said they couldn't make it. Last night we had a lesson with them and found out her most recent ex husband won't give the kids permission to learn. :( She did take a Book of Mormon though and her two oldest kids said they would read it with her.

Also last week Jessica accepted a baptism date for December 27th. She is slowly stopping smoking. Ray and Miriam didn't come to church again so Sunday night we stopped by there place and re taught the importance of church. They said they would come next week and we have another lesson with them tonight.

We are back out looking for some new people to teach this week. Also tell Chelle thanks for the talk she sent! It was really good. Right now in my Book of Mormon reading I'm in Mosiah chapter 18. One of the sister missionaries I befriended on my mission has a member from my home ward that moved into her ward. I think it was the Browns? Not sure.

That's all this week! I love and miss y'all!

Have some pictures :)

Dad:
Sounds great!  Send more pictures when you get a chance. Don't forget to get pictures with people you teach and members.  I bet the new shirts are a lot more white than the old ones. We love and miss u!

Graham: More pictures!

Dad: That's a ton of firewood!! You have a popcorn machine.
Graham: Our last ward mission leader gave us the popcorn machine. It's a lot smaller then yours but it works. :)
