June 27

Dad:
Elder Fiddlestick Graham cracker,

We missed you on Monday.  I hope you get to email us today.

I just saw this on Facebook
Looks like they are doing well!  I'm happy for him.  He asked about you when we were there and trying the new dosant.   We told him you were doing great as a missionary in Washington.

I haven't seen Robbie's car down at the Aldi store lately.  I wonder if he is still working there?

The missionaries are coming over tonight to eat at our house.  We are having BBQ sandwiches, baked beans and zesty French fries.  I hope they like that.

We miss and love you!!  I hope all is well.
Dad

Graham:
Hello hello! Just got back from the temple! Woke up at 4:45 today and I'm getting sick again... I love the summer here in Washington. It feels great outside. It will rain for 20 minutes and evaporate a few minutes later! The missionary work seems to be picking up now that it's summer. Wish someone would feed us barbecue  We get a lot of spaghetti and pizza! Had a great lesson with Lance! He is coming to church this Sunday and will hopefully feel the Holy Ghost testify of the truthfulness of the gospel!

I love and miss ya'll a lot!!

Elder Feidler

Dad:
What were you doing at the temple?  Did you get to go through a session?  I didn't think missionaries got to go to the temple while in the field.

Graham:
We get to go through three sessions a year! Have you seen my plaid hat?? Thought I brought it with me but I can't find it. My companion got a speeding ticket on the way to the temple; 47 in a 30. We get a new mission president on Monday! I'm so excited about the technology change!

Dad:
Yes, I think it is here but not sure.  Must be boxed up in the top of the garage.  Will have to do some looking.  Your mom is asking me if you are still on Chelle's insurance so she could get a Z pack here and mail to you.  I think it would be best if you saw a doctor again if you are sick.  You don't want to do antibiotics every month if you can help it.  Especially if a doctor hasn't seen you.

Did the church insurance cover your last doctor visit where you got a Z Pack?

Graham:
I spent $3 for the Zpack and the doctor visit was free at some old guys house. My companion thinks I should man up and tough it out without seeing a doctor and he doesn't want to waste a day driving to Seattle to see him. Maybe I should just give the doctor a call and see what he suggests.

Dad:
I would just call the doctor then.  I want you to get well and stay well!  We worry about you.  You better send a video SD card soon so we can confirm you are not getting too skinny or sick!! lol

June 21

Dear Family of the Fiddles,
It's a letter from Elder Feidler! This week has been a rainy one! Goodbye sunshine. Today is Thursday morning. Tonight we get to teach Lance another lesson. Hopefully he has had the time to read and pray to receive an answer. Tonight I'm going on an exchange with Elder Green from my MTC group. :-) Also, Elder Woolwine (my companion from the MTC) His family is moving to Houston! Yesterday we said goodbye to President Wilson. He has been an amazing mission president. I'm excited to meet President Bonhom though!

Yesterday we went to Brother Ray Cox to give him a blessing. He is going through breast cancer. It's hard to watch people go through trials, but as missionaries we do it a lot.

Sharon and Alvie (the people we live with) are still doing great. Alvie is able to see better and better everyday. Last night they took us to a restaurant called AZUL in Millcreek Town Center. It was really good Mexican food! Afterward we went to Sharon's house and taught her some of the Plan of Salvation. She agreed with the way we taught it and she told us a story about a book, "Embraced by the Light" by Betty J. Eadie. At one time, Sharon owned a very large bakery in New York. Her next door neighbor was the first host for Good Morning America! She told him about this book and the host decided to interview the author. This book is about a Mormon who had a near death experience. Now the book is a New York best seller.

So something I wish I would of done more of back home is helping around the house. We do so much service out here and it feels great to help people out!

My companion is completely broke! LOL! IDK what to do. He uses and eats all of my stuff and he spends his money on cowboy boots and things he doesn't need! Ugh! LOL! I'm going to be broke.

Anyways, I'm so grateful for my mission and the opportunities I have to share the gospel! I love and miss you guys!

Sincerely,
Elder Feidler

Dad:
Hi,
I hope you had a great week and many investigators out to church!  We went to Port Arthur yesterday to see Grandpa for Father's Day.  I had a great Father's Day.  I got a new leather belt, swim suit and a white church shirt.

We had a fun trip to Port Arthur with all of us in the little Accent.  Luckily Myka didn't cry, but slept most of the way.  We are starting to think about getting a bigger vehicle.  We went and looked at some used Honda Pilots on Saturday and found they have almost no room behind the 3rd row seat to place the stroller and other baby stuff.

So believe it or not we are starting to consider a van!!!  MINIvan. Looking seriously at the Toyota Sienna vs. the Honda Odyssey Minivans.  At least they have the word MINI in them.  We would be getting a used one, unless we decide to lease.

I've still been busy at work and selling.  This past week  I went to Austin for a trade show on Tuesday, Wed, Thursday.  I ordered a retractable banner and used it along with the other guys banners from the other TX Tikes agencies

Well, that's been my week.  We didn't have any extra Bishopric  meetings because it was Fathers Day.

How is Mike doing?  Mrs Hively make it out to church again?

Along time ago I went with the missionaries to one of those firesides where the new converts get to talk or share their testimony and it was pretty awesome.  I bet that one at your president's home was good.

Have a great week!!  I will be on the road around the time you email usually so not sure if I will be able to email back immediately today.

Drink a slushy for me!  Chelle found me a machine on e-bay but it was $800.  I said no way! I don't need to try to keep one of those things clean and filled....

Be careful and teach & serve many. Love You!
 Dad

Graham:

Hello, Hello!! Happy Fathers day! I'm so very thankful for an awesome dad like you! This past week has been another good one. We got three people to commit to baptism, Lance, Shiane, and Jennifer. This week we hope to put them on date! On Saturday I went to Snohomish with the zone leaders on splits! It was a little scary at first but work out good. I met a lady from Beaumont, Texas. She has a baptism date and is making great progress. In Snohomish we didn't drive much. We walked a lot from apartment complex to apartment complex. We are running out of Book of Mormons and need to order more! lol Ms. Hively didn't make it to church again. She is sick a lot and doesn't have health insurance. She smokes like a chimney! Mike is doing better and better and is very slowly making progress. Last P-day after email we worked out at a body builder's house and got to ride in his 1100 horse power Chrysler 300!!! That thing is crazy powerful! Alvie, the guy we live with, went to surgery last week for his blind eye. We gave him a blessing the night before and right after the surgery he was able to see out of his blind eye! I'm so very thankful for the restored Priesthood power on the earth today and for an amazing father that has been a great example to me!

Love ya'll,
Elder Feidler

Graham:
Hey! It's been another great week in paradise! This last week wasn't quite as busy, but the people we did see are progressing! One of our investigators, Mike, now has a desire to act on what he has learned. He has been taught for the past 2 years but never made to much progress overcoming his trials. Lance, another investigator, understands everything we teach him. Hopefully Thursday we will commit him to baptism. Mrs. Hively has been taught for the last 7 years but has showed up for church for the last 3 Sundays. Her Boyfriend says he notices a difference in her when she comes to church that he likes. She also said she feels better when she attends church. We have a lesson with her this Wednesday. Saturday was free fish day. We had volunteered to help out with a women s fish camp for a bunch of non members she told us we couldn't when we said we wouldn't be called by our first names. Later that evening we had a member call us to come eat dinner at his place and fish on his dock. We fished for a little bit but were unsuccessful at catching anything. Last night (Sunday) We went to a cottage meeting at President Wilson's house. It was where a whole bunch of Investigators all went to presidents house and listened to recent converts conversion stories! It was an amazing meeting that touched my heart through the spirit.

So it's been a pretty great week. My companion and I still have are difficulties and differences but he hasn't broke me in half yet! :P

I got the care package Saturday! Thank you so much. Also love the 50th wedding anniversary invitations!

Dad:
Awesome! Sounds good. Keep up the good work! We are praying for you daily here. I'm so proud of you and the work you are doing. You will be blessed with much success.
Thanks for the updates! Don't let your companion break you in half...... Bribe him with goodies from your care package from home. You should get it today.
Luv, Dad

Dad:
Hi Graham (Elder Feidler) ,  It's been another busy week here.  Work is still busy for me and Chelle has this last week of work before her summer break.  She is not going back to be the school nurse next year so hopefully we can find insurance and maybe a part time job for her that works well for all of us.  Myka is still growing. She seems quite heavy and has a long torso.  Maddie made cupcakes and brownies this past week for the Young Women's spaghetti dinner / fundraising auction.  Her cupcakes looked like minions from Despicable Me. I'm going to stick photos in line in this email.  Let me know if you can see them ok.
Here is the best way I found to deal with these minions - add ice cream.
This week I also noticed my car's steering wheel was shaking a lot while accelerating.  It was a bad tire.  I needed 3 new tires and an alignment! (I got all 4 tires new at Discount & aligned at GoodYear.)

Here's a pic of Chelle & Myka - Grandma is coming over this week to take care of her.  Chelle took today off work so she will only have a four day work week.

Looks like your Mom is getting close to buying a house.  It is just south of Bailey.  They have an inspection tomorrow I think.  Our old house on Colleen is for sale!  She didn't want to go back there.

That's about all of the news for around here.  I hope you are doing well and finding people to teach.  We got a pair of jeans and a couple of T shirts in a box and I will send it off this week to you. I saw Robbie's new car down at the Aldi store on Saturday.  I went back by later to stop in and he was gone already. Keep up the good work!  Of the 3 elders in our ward, two are brand new on their missions.  One elder is training two!  I love you!  Dad

Graham:
Hey! It's Monday again. Machias is starting to feel like home.

Sweet! Love the update! Yesterday (Sunday) was great! We had a few investigators that came to church and also some less actives. The week before we had this lady come for sacrament meeting and we talked her into staying for the next hour. When she got back home her husband could see a difference in her and so she is starting to come every week! On Saturday we had scheduled tracting but didn't know where to go. We said a prayer to have the spirit guide us where we needed to be. We ended up driving to the other side of our boundaries and parking at a members house down a long dirt road. When we starting walking down that long dirt road there was a lady walking her dog towards us. We finally met up with her and ended up talking about a ton of things which eventually ended up at the gospel. She said she had been trying out a few different churches but none of them seemed right and she didn't know what to do. We taught her a little bit about what we believe and the Book of Mormon. She seemed interested and wanted us to come back and teach her! Also she has a neighbor who is taking lessons from the Witnesses so we are going to give her lessons too! I can't wait to go back and teach her!

I'll send a SD card with some videos and pictures soon. Just haven't had the time. We are now driving a Subaru that is all-wheel drive. It's pretty sweet. Also we should be getting some of the new 2013 Ford Fusions in the mission in the next couple of weeks. There is this one family, the Bakers, that drive a Chrysler 300 that they have rebuilt. Now it has 1200 horse power!!!

Anyways this last week started of rough but ended up great!

Dad:
Feels like home! That means you need to be transferred... Just when you get used to everything that is when they often mix it up and you get moved. That's what it seemed like to me. I hope you are feeling better and not sick anymore. Chelle is coming down with a cold / stuffy head and nose right now. I'm sure a lack of sleep and seeing all those sick kids at her school contributed to that. Love, Dad

Graham:
I should be here for at least another 3 months and I'm feeling better but I still get the symptoms every once in a while. I have found a lot of black mold in our trailer... So it's either the mold or allergies.

Dad Wrote: Did you ever get the little photo book I sent through Walgreens?

Graham:
I did!! the photo book is awesome!

Dad:
Did you get a slushy machine??  Still eating good? Any thing else you need in the box we are sending? Thanks for the update!  We will share your experiences tonight with the kids at family home evening.  Chelle is adding all our emails and pictures to a blog.  So you can have a blog book printed at the end of your mission.

Graham:
Haven't got the slushy machine yet bet hope to get that in the next few days! I could use a shammy to get dry after a rain storm. Or if you find any cheap ties I could always use more of those. But besides that I'm doing great!
I love and miss you guys!

I could really use some double sided tape or new scriptures. My pages are falling out

Dad:
I thought you had a second set of scriptures somewhere around here. I'll look. Remember nothing should be added or taken away from the Word! lol
