And he's off....

Graham's preparation for his mission was fast and furious. We had anticipated getting to spend the summer with him, but when he received that call on February 22, we learned he was assigned to leave 7 weeks later! There was a lot to do to get him ready, not including purchasing the clothes he needed and packing.

He left on Wednesday, April 10th in the wee hours of the morning. The night before, Mike had given Graham a wonderful Father's Blessing and we were able to spend the evening enjoying each other's company, taking family pictures and spending quality time with baby Myka.
Graham had a rough start, getting accustomed to the MTC (missionary training center) in Provo, Utah. And even still, getting settled into that first week in Washington was all so new and overwhelming to him. Since then, we've heard wonderful news already and we would be negligent to not journal it and share it with those we know and love.

Mike is able to correspond with Graham a short bit through email on Pday (preparation day) which falls on Monday. It's fun to be able to chat "real time" back and forth through emails. This way Mike can ask specific questions without having to wait for another snail mail letter. Graham's letters are short and sweet and as a result, we bombard him with loads of questions.

Here's his story, one letter at a time...
